I am sick.
I refer the honorable gentle people to the post I wrote some time ago. It's probably just Avian Flu. Do you remember bird flu? Wasn't it great how we all worried about that and then it disappeared only ever to be referred to in a nostalgic way like "Do you remember when the Blue Peter Garden was trashed? Can you name all the Fireman from Trumpton? Remember when you could get on a bus for 10p?"
My computer is poorly too. Its not been so well since the summer. It has been starting up and crashing after about 45 minutes, which has made downloading music illegally very difficult. I have been able to live with this for a long time but it has deteriorated over the past few weeks (which means I have had to blog at work and I hope that explains the randomness of my blog posting and the bashed out nature of the posts - Back to Monday, Wednesday & Friday next month I promise!).
Nowadays, I look forward to being sick. It means I can crack open the wonderful green minty elixyr called Night Nurse. It is quite possibly the best development since Al Gore invented in the internet. As good as it is, it hasn't been much use on my computer - ever since I poured some Night Nurse over the motherboard, the Computer's been in sleep mode.
I could have had the day off sick today, I suppose. But as I lay on the sofa this morning I looked around the flat and saw a pile of ironing, a load of "papers", a box full or recycling and some Christmas lights to put up and I realised I'd have a much easier and quieter day if I actually went into work.
At least there I only have to pretend to work.
